    Goats

Charlock and Clover are our two Golden Guernsey sisters. They were born at neighbouring Spitalfields City Farm in 2007.

Golden Guernsey’s are known for their placid nature and excellent milk production relative to their small size. Goats are ‘browsers’ rather than ‘grazers’ – they enjoy a variety of vegetation and like nothing more than munching on brambles and fresh leaves.

Domestic goats are one of the oldest domesticated species. For thousands of years they have been utilized for their milk, meat, hair and skins all over the world.

Female goats are called Nanny’s while their children are called Kids.

    Did you know…

Goat’s milk is easily digestible and less allergenic than cow’s milk!
