The First Straw – A Beginners Guide to Strawbale Building
This course covers a history of strawbale building, reasons why you would choose to build with straw, environmental and sustainability issues, basic introduction to techniques and design. But beware – you are likely to catch Bale Frenzy…..
Getting Plastered – A Beginners Guide to natural plasters: lime and clay
This course covers a history of lime and clay plasters, reasons why you would choose to use breathable plasters, environmental and sustainability issues, basic introduction to the materials.
• Course times 10am – 4pm
• You will receive a certificate from Straw Works on completion of these courses.
We also have an online course available for only £20.
Many people find this is a great way of remembering what they learnt with us, and also is a good introduction to what you might expect on one of our courses.
Barbara’s book “Building with Strawbales” is a very popular practical handbook that’s also a good read! Available from our website.
