Call for volunteers to create a new outdoor space at the Farm!

We need volunteers to help create and support a new outdoor space for activity and well-being at Hackney City Farm.

“Woodland Space” with be nestled in the Farm’s woodland with a unique canopy.

Come to the following afternoon drop-in sessions at The Farm:

    • Saturday 1 September
    • Thursday 6 September
    • Saturday 8 September

    Time: 1.30–4.30pm

During these sessions you will find out more about volunteering opportunities for Woodland Place and help prepare Tetra Tiles.

The Woodland Place is to be built by volunteers led by E2 architect, Sarah Bland in early October 2018 and will use sustainable materials and feature a Tetra Tile roof.

In preparation for the build, local residents, volunteers and cafes are rinsing foil Tetra Paks for re-purposing into 1,200 tiles.

Thank you (La Bouche, Frizzante,Tin Cafe, E5 Bakehouse, Climpsons, Bread Station and Footnote) and you for any help so far given in July and August to prepare Tiles.

Woodland Place will be accessible to all and a space to reflect in nature, as well as join others in learning and play activities – increasing belonging and healthy living. Event ideas to run from questionnaires include bread making, cinema and foraging.

We seek volunteers to interview local people about outdoor play and learning, plan, promote and lead Woodland Place events.

Hope to see you at one of our sessions. For other dates and to register interest, please contact:  ken@hackneycityfarm.co.uk
