Our straw bale eco-building is an ideal space for meetings, training, workshops.
Built from natural and reclaimed materials by volunteers, the straw bale building is a unique venue with strong eco-credentials. It is built with straw bales, has a green roof for biodiversity and is insulated with sheep’s wool. When the winter chill settles in, the room is heated by a wood-burning stove.
This is a perfect meeting room or space to run training and workshops and we have had global companies hold round tables, consultancies run workshops with clients and local charities host presentations. It has been used for launch parties and team away days, choir recitals and renewable energy workshops.
The room measures 6 metres by 7 metres and can fit up to 50 people standing or about 30 sitting. As a guide price the room costs £40 per hour, but we are flexible and offer discounts to charities and local groups.
Hiring out the space during the daytime helps support a range of community activities in the evenings including a community choir, woodcraft group for young people, yoga classes for vulnerable people and occasional meetings of small charities or residents groups.
Through the cafe food can be provided and tailored to dietary requirements and there are three options for a lunch buffet, all include at least a main, salad and cakes. Alternatively visitors can order from the daily menu. For information on catering please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
