Volunteering

Over the past nine years the Farm has run a very popular and successful volunteer programme thanks to funding from The City Bridge Trust, Jack Petchy Foundation, Tudor Trust and The Big Lottery.

Currently our volunteer program consists of:

  •  Gardening sessions for adults held on Tuesdays and Thursday afternoons 2–4pm. Contact Rita & Ken on volunteer@hackneycityfarm.co.uk for information.

  • The Mini Farmers Club is held every Saturday morning from 10.30—12.30. It’s a great way for younger kids to learn about nature, make arts and crafts and get to know the animals, under the careful supervision of our livestock worker. This is a free session and is aimed at young people aged 8–12 years. Contact Charlie-Jane on cj@hackneycityfarm.co.uk.

  • Volunteering in the shop. You can build up your skills and get help applying for jobs. There are various shifts throughout the week so if you are interested then contact Charlotte & Tommy on shop@hackneycityfarm.co.uk.

You can also call the farm office on 020 7729 6381. If nobody answers, we are working outside on the farm so please leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

We are always grateful for additional help!

As a way of saying thanks to our volunteers for all their hard work we arrange trips and activities for them. These activities include Capel Manor Harvest Festival – a show involving all the city farms from around London, which is held annually at Capel Manor College in Enfield.
