The current workshops we offer are on The Chicken Lifecycle, Growing Food and Habitats, there is more information about these below. If you would like to book a workshop or forest school session please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include the date you are interested, the number of students and the age group.
If you have topics that you particularly want us to cover then please let us know and we can tailor the workshop.
The cost of a workshop is £100.
We are also running Forest School sessions here at the farm. These are for a minimum of 6 weeks, see below for more information.
Chicken and Egg
What comes first, the chicken or the egg? This workshop looks at the constituent parts of an egg and what is required to hatch them, how chickens change in appearance as they grow and how to distinguish between cockerels and hens.
This looks at what plants need to be healthy, which bit of the plant we eat, how seeds are dispersed, and tries to get the children to think about what foods they eat originate as plants. The workshop ends with a practical seed planting session, where the seedlings can be taken back to school and nurtured.
Investigates where all the creatures around the farm live and how they adapt to various habitats. Children get to examine and explore different areas and the needs of different creatures they find from chickens to wiggly worms.
Forest School Sessions
Forest School is a philosophy of outdoor learning -giving all learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland or natural environment with trees. It takes time to develop confidence and risk assessment and so we ask schools to book a minimum of 6 sessions. These cost £75 per session and last 1-2hrs long depending on the age of the children.
